Structure - Summary

After finishing with the main body part of your presentation, you are ready for the summary.

The first thing you want to do is give a brief summary of the main parts of your presentation.  Make sure you make it a point to highlight sections of your presentation that you want your audience to really remember.  But be careful not to take too long to summarize your presentation.  Some presenters have a tendency to literally go over each section again.

Here are some examples to start your summary:

ex.)  To sum up ... In summary ... I will now summarize my presentation ...

If you have any conclusions, you state them immediately after your summary.

Here are some examples to start your conclusion:

ex.)  In conclusion ... These are my conclusions ... To conclude ...

And if you are making any recommendations, you can make them now.

Here are some examples to make your recommendation(s):

ex.)  Based on the information, I recommend ... My recommendation is ...

As I have previously mentioned, every part of your presentation should be fluid and connected like telling a story.  Achieving this you should focus on key linking words to link each part of your presentation.
