Structure - Main Body

The main body is the core of your presentation.

In this part you will go over the contents of your presentation.  You must follow a logical, systematic order to make sure your audience can follow you and understand.

In this section you need to consider the following:

Clearly state each part of the main body.

ex.)  The first part of my presentation describes the market trends for automobiles in 2010.
Let's move on to the second part of my presentation where we will take a look at ...

Associate the part with any sub-parts.

ex.)  I have divided the automobile market trends into four regions.  The first region is... The second ...

During the main body section of the presentation, always use signposting to guide your audience.  Think about when you are driving.  There are signs to tell you where to turn, how far to the destination and so on.

ex.)  This page shows ... The bottom of the page shows ... On the next page we will see ... If you look at the graph ... Let's compare the graphs ... As we move to the last part of my presentation ... The picture illustrates ... The process is like this ...

***Please check this site in the near future to learn how to read tables, charts, graphs, illustrations and more in detail - since these are frequently used in the main body of the presentation

Finished with the main parts of your presentation.

When you have finished with the main parts of your presentation, you can tell your audience that you have finished.

ex.) That brings me to the end of my presentation.  Now I will summarize ...
That concludes the main parts of my presentation.

Note:  Once you have finished this section go directly into the summary section.  Some presenters have a tendency to have an awkward pause here.
